How does wintbat make money?
Today, wintbat earns nothing. Not from you, not from travellers. It's a short answer and an awkward one, so we may as well explain why it's true — and what it will become.
Why the commission is zero
This isn't a marketing promise, it's a consequence of the way the platform is built.
No payment goes through us
The traveller pays you directly, in dinars, on arrival. That money passes through no wintbat account — so there is nothing to take a cut of along the way, even if we wanted to. That's also why no bank card is required, neither from you nor from the traveller.
There are no bank details to resell
No card, no RIB: since nothing is paid for on wintbat, there is nothing to store. Your contact details are not shared before a booking is confirmed. What we collect, what we do with it and the rights you have over it are set out in the privacy policy — law 25-11, and an address to write to us.
Publishing costs nothing, and neither does being contacted
Creating your account, publishing your listings, receiving travellers' requests and replying to them: all of it is free, with no limit on the number of listings and no trial period.
And tomorrow?
A platform that earns nothing doesn't last. Telling you otherwise would be dishonest.
If paid services appear, they will be optional services for the hosts who want them — more visibility, management tools. They will be offered in dinars, through the payment methods used here: CIB, EDAHABIA, BaridiMob, bank transfer. No currency conversion, no international bank fees.
Three things will never cost money
- Publishing a listing, however many you have.
- Receiving a request from a traveller, and replying to them.
- The commission on your bookings, which will stay at zero — it's written into the terms of service, not only on this page.
Why we're telling you this now
Because "free" without an explanation always ends up being paid for somewhere, and you are right to be wary. You're trusting strangers with your home: you have every right to know who earns what in all this. If one day this page stops being true, this is the page to hold us to.
